Founding Partner Laura Donohoe
About Laura

Laura Donohoe, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is a seasoned human resources leader with over 21 years of experience driving people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and cultural transformation. She is known for partnering closely with leadership teams to align talent strategies with business goals and position HR as a strategic driver of success.

Laura brings deep expertise across the full employee lifecycle, including HR operations, talent management, employee relations, organizational design, and large-scale change initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions. She holds an MBA, multiple bachelor's degrees, and is dual-certified as an SPHR and SHRM-SCP. An active HR community leader, Laura has served in volunteer leadership roles within local SHRM associations.

Passionate about supporting the HR profession, Laura co-founded HR Connected, a community built to foster meaningful connection, shared learning, and peer support for HR professionals navigating complex challenges.

About Amber

Amber Trail, MBA, SHRM-CP has spent over 15 years working in and alongside HR functions, where she consistently saw the same challenge: HR professionals were expected to support everyone else, often without the support, mentorship, or community they needed themselves.

Early in her career, Amber witnessed firsthand how outdated and ineffective HR practices negatively impacted both employees and HR leaders. After finding mentors who showed her a more people-centered, strategic approach to HR, she built deep experience leading HR transformation, developing foundational systems, and supporting leaders through complex people issues.

Through that work, it became clear that HR professionals needed a space to connect, learn, and grow without isolation or pressure to "have it all figured out." HR Connected was created to meet that need — a community grounded in real experience, practical conversation, and support for HR professionals doing challenging, often unseen work.

Founding Member Shana Stuart
About Shana

Shana began her HR journey in 2011 at a crossroads in her life when her first career was impacted by The Great Recession in '09. After a winding path and sometimes choosing the road less traveled, she is currently the HR Director for a medium-large custom manufacturer with locations in Greater Boston, NYC, and Orlando.

Shana lives outside Boston with her boyfriend and their cat, hedgehog, and gecko. Shana is very passionate about strength training, sports, continual learning - or what she calls 'forever inquisitiveness' - and, of course, the HR Connected community.

HR Connected found Shana at a time in her life when she felt very isolated in Human Resources; on an island. The community has made her feel significantly more supported and she will forever be very grateful for HR Connected.

About Sara

Sara Bordeaux, founder of PurposedHR, brings nearly 20 years of transformational HR leadership to the table, honed in high-stakes manufacturing and healthcare environments. Armed with a degree from Lee University where she studied psychology and business, she later gained certifications in HR and leadership facilitation (PHR, SHRM-CP, DDI FCP) and attained experience from the trenches of HR as a "department of one" early in her career.

She has spearheaded HR strategies for global industry giants, driving results across multiple sites. Through the mission of PurposedHR, she now empowers organizations of all sizes to unleash their full potential by equipping leaders, optimizing HR, and transforming culture through purpose-driven strategies and programs.

Her workshops are designed to ignite purpose in work, build thriving teams, and foster unshakeable values-based cultures. When Sara isn't revolutionizing HR she is enjoying life in Georgia with her husband and four teen boys, drawing inspiration from service to her community and globe-trotting experiences, including time spent teaching in Chile.
